Yay for hay!

Today we got five big bales of grassy hay delivered for our sheep and llamas to eat during the winter. Thanks to our neighbor Joe Swanepoel!

That is one big wagon.

The wind picked up and blew snow off the barn roof.

The sheep wasted no time before they went out to check out the new bales.

Photo Hike Farm Stay 2

This photo was a lot more interesting with the 3 eagles who were feeding on the deer carcass. They would not pose for us.

December 6th

This is the second day of Farm Stay 2!!  Everyone is so happy and excited to be here!  It has been snowing almost constantly all day today.  We all hope that we get a lot of snow soon.   On the first day that we were here we spent community bonding time by going sledding on the big hill.  We had a great time.  We are all satisfied with our rooms and the people we are with.  But we are still waiting for one more community member who will arrive tomorrow!  Today we choose what we were going to do for micro economy and what occupation we were going on.  We enjoy the snow, being around everyone and being at the farm.  It will take a few days to get into the flow of things that we do here but we are on the right path and are striving to be great at everything soon!  For right now, that is all we have done, but we can’t wait to do more!

Welcome Farm Stay 2

Today is the first day of Farm Stay 2 and we are very pleased to welcome our latest batch of Junior High students. Today the students are mostly unpacking and doing orientation-type activities. We will also go on a big hike. The snow is falling and pretty soon there will be enough snow on the sledding hill to go sledding.

First Big Snow Photos

This was the first snow that required plowing. We went to sleep on Saturday and by Sunday morning the snow had blanketed the Land School creating a winter wonderland. The snow fell without wind so it piled absurdly high on the branches.
