Welcoming SPRING!!!!!

Today at the Land School, the weather was very nice and sunny. The Junior High visited and did some occupations work and green house work to help welcome Spring. Afterwards in the afternoon we had free time and time to catch up with our friends. When they had to leave, we had a little bit of free time and discovered the first tick! Ahh! In the afternoon, during CE PE, we had archery!  It was perfect weather for archery and we all had a lot of fun.
Overall, today was a perfect day of spring.

4/29/2013

Today was a pretty normal day, although very, very warm. I, for one, was badly sunburned and was actually wishing for winter.
We had math in the morning and then occupations. Then we ate lunch in our mentor groups and we talked about the upcoming 6th grade and Junior High visits. Our council meeting afterwards was very productive. During Micro Economy we did our profit loss statement and we got to learn how much money we made off of our products that we sold at the Planting Festival. At the end of our day, we made our own delicious dinner.

Planting Festival

Yesterday we had the Planting Festival and Spring Sing.  It started at 11 and we got to work.  There was greenhouse work, facilities work and prairie planting.  After we worked for one and a half hours we had a potluck.  There was a good turn out.
After we had the potluck there was a sing along and kite flying.  It was really good kite flying weather and was really nice for the festival.  A couple hours after everybody left there was a thunderstorm.  It did not last that long but was really exciting.

Saturday April 27th

Today we worked a lot on setting up for the Planting Festival. Everybody finished his or her Micro-Eco projects to be ready during the festival. We also did work like collecting sap, labeling maple syrup bottles, or making signs for the fest. After we finished all of our work we had free time, many of us like to take funny pictures. –Alex

Today, spring finally started! The weather is simply amazing! It got up to 70˚, the snow is melting, and I can hear birds chirping. And, it is my birthday! But, I am very happy that it is spring. I wore shorts for the first time (after jumping in a mud puddle,) and was perfectly comfortable outside. For dinner, we had Make Your Own pizza, and in the middle of dinner, my dad, step-mom and grandparents showed up with cake! Also, today we played a game of Hunger Games, and a lot of Tiger. It was a very fun day. I enjoyed it thoroughly. Farmstay is a lot of fun.

April 23rd Snow Storm

On Tuesday April 23rd we awoke to a winter wonderland. The snow had been blowing from the north and west and coated that side of the trees. There was a lot of it. In the morning the tree branches we so covered that they were drooping low. Some broke off.
