Poem in your pocket day!
April 18, 2013
So far, Farmstay four has been fantastic! We arrived on
Monday April 15th, and had a lot of introduction throughout the
whole day. We closed with each of us telling a story from our lives. Everyone had
a great time learning more about each other as we sat and told about our own
births, to the times we were provoked by our siblings, to injuries and hospital
visits. This is how we end each night, with stories.
Today was poem in your pocket day so here is one poem:
Dreams
Hold fast to dreams
For if dreams die
Life is a broken-winged bird
That cannot fly.
Hold fast to dreams
For when dreams go
Life is a barren field
Frozen with snow.
For if dreams die
Life is a broken-winged bird
That cannot fly.
Hold fast to dreams
For when dreams go
Life is a barren field
Frozen with snow.
Langston Hughes
All we can do is hope that our prairie doesn’t turn into a barren
field frozen with snow because its raining really hard right now and there is a
chance of some snow. We thought almost all the snow would be gone in a few days
but I guess we didn’t hold fast to our dreams. After this snow we will make
sure that we do.
