Rocket Stove

The Rocket Stove, hard at work.

Still Burning!

Cooking

Whats cooking good looking?

Stir Fry!

Rocket stoves are used to conserve fuel (wood) and to work efficiently. When we went to the Green Skills event, we got a presentation on rocket stoves. The presenter, Kurt, was very friendly and taught us a lot in a short period of time. He had refractory bricks, which are very insulated. Unfortunately they are very fragile and break easily.  We did not have any refractory bricks at the Land School, so we used concrete blocks. They worked fine for what we were doing but were not as insulated as the other bricks. We cooked two meals outside on our rocket stove and enjoyed a nice hot meal.
