Spring Planting Festival Coming Soon
On Sunday, April 29th the Farm Stay 4 students are hosting out annual Planting Festival from 11 am to 3 pm at Lake Country's rural campus. This is a one-day push to get the early planting in. We will be planting onions, appple trees, prairie plants, landscaping flowers, and more! It is a great opportunity to get your hands dirty and help out in a tangible way. The students will also be creating a variety of handmade crafts and baked goods for you to choose from.  There is a potluck lunch, and we all know how great Lake Country potlucks can be. Please contact the Land School staff for more information.

Farm Stay 4 Begins
This week we welcome 12 Junior High students to the rural campus for the beginning of their 18-day Farm Stay. They will be preparing to host the Planting Festival, getting ready for the Plant Sale, preparing a new chicken coop area in the red barn, and enjoying the changeability of the Spring weather.  We are excited that Doug has arranged for the prairie burning to happen this week, and there will also be a film crew from a Wisconsin TV station here that day to learn about the Land School in preparation for Earth Day coverage. Check the blog for daily updates. http://lakecountrylandschool.blogspot.com/

Friends School visits
Last week we hosted 40 5th and 6th graders from the Friends School. We had lovely weather, and the students helped get us ready for our own Plant Sale, while telling us all about the preparations they make for their (much larger) sale. There was also animal care and wilderness survival activities and plenty of free time to explore and play. This was our second year hosting the Friends School and we hope we have started a tradition.
