Apple Picking with Farm Stay 1

by Andy

So today we welcomed Farm Stay 1 to the Land School. They moved right in and it seems like they have been here for a long time already. This afternoon instead of the traditional hike, we went to the old orchard and picked a lot of apples. The Liberty apples taste better after a frost, so we have been waiting to pick them. But we have had two frosts in the last week, and they are at peak flavor right now. So we are going to pick them and store them. Today we picked 8 bushels - maybe over 200 pounds of apples. Some are for eating and some for cider. There is more out there!
