Tomorrow is our third Market Day of the year. Class F is coming out to help with harvest. We really need their help, because it is going to be a huge harvest!

Here is a list - organized by plant family:

Broccoli
Cabbage
Cauliflower
Kale
Radishes

Peppers
Hot peppers
Potatoes
Eggplant
Tomatoes

Sweet Corn!!!!!!

Watermelon
Cucumbers
Zucchini

Carrots
Parsley
Cilantro (Possible)
Dill

Onions
Garlic

Beets
Swiss Chard

Green Beans

Cut Flowers (Many Plant Families)

I remember another September 11th when we had a harvest day. A family came out to help harvest and told us that an airplane had flown into the World Trade Center. At first I pictured a small airplane that had gotten lost in the clouds or something. It was eerie that day going about the business of the harvest and market, with no airplanes flying overhead and pauses to watch or listen to the news and sink into the horror of the day. What I remember most was that it was a beautiful, crisp Fall day with an abundant harvest, which seemed so at odds with what was happening in the world.
