The other day Donna and I were talking in the classroom and one of the students approached us with the question: "Is there any moral purpose?" Donna and I looked at each other and got ready for a deep philosophical discussion. I was personally pleased that our recent attempts to bring up the idea of morals and character were bearing fruit. I love to chew on a real question and engage the students.
However, in this instance, we were mistaken. What we actually were asked was "Is there any more all-purpose," as in flour for making scones. And the answer to both questions was NO.
