It’s half over
So far today, we are just over half way complete with this
Farm Stay. We have had tons of fun,
had some pretty great adventures, created many inside jokes, and made some
amazing memories, all with only one trip to the emergency room.
Today began with Donna’s mentee group getting up for farm
chores at 7:00 am. The llamas and
sheep were very happy to see us and receive food. We then ate a quick breakfast before starting our hour of
math. After math, Doug came out to
give us our weekly science lesson. Because of the snow last week he was unable
to make it up here (so we went sledding instead! Shhh!! Don’t tell Doug) so he
came up twice this week. Today we
had a lesson on winter birds and other birds that we could see at the bird blind
and at the Land School. Then we went out to the bird blind and were able to
spot 10 different species of birds!
We also went snowshoeing and searching for animal tracks.
Donna also
taught us how to make tie- die shirts. We all spent the afternoon either tie-dying
Farm Stay t-shirts or working on our Micro Economy projects. All in all a great day on Farm Stay
3! We hope to see you all at the
Pancake Breakfast on Saturday.
